Histoacryl^® topical skin adhesive is made of n-butyl-2 cyanoacrylate, which polymerizes rapidly on contact with tissue or fluid. It offers easy, ready-to-use application, closes wounds faster than sutures, reduces pain, lowers time and cost, and provides an effective microbial barrier.

Histoacryl^® adhesive gives you versatile options for wound closure. The original formula comes in two colors: clear (ideal for cosmetic or pediatric use) and blue (designed for excellent visibility on darker skin tones and to easily track application).

For added performance, Histoacryl^® Flexible delivers the perfect balance of strength, flexibility, and fast closure times. It’s ideal for small, non-bleeding wounds or for use over sutures and staples—providing an effective microbial barrier and keeping wounds secure. Its flexibility makes it especially valuable for areas that move or bend, giving both patients and clinicians confidence in lasting results.

Features & Benefits

• Cost Effective
  The Histoacryl^® formulation has the activator built in, so there is no initiator required. It will not polymerize (dry) until contact is made with skin, fluid or blood. The formulation will not solidify in the applicator, allowing all .5 ml of adhesive to be used.

  Histoacryl^® Flexible comes with a beveled applicator tip that allows for enhanced control and improved application, for longer, wider incisions.
• Microbial Barrier
  The Histoacryl formulation is water-resistant and acts as a barrier to microbial penetration as long as the protective adhesive film remains intact.
